M*|Heyes was Captain of Company C-fiat Virginia Regi ment, 2nd Virginia Brigade, Gordon division, General Jackson’s Corp. in the Northern Virginia Army- He fought ip 33 regular engagements, and in Ml the battles that Jackson fought. Capt. Hayes prophesied that General Lee would remain ode of the outstanding men of the nation. The Barrett home was attractively decorated with Fall flowers. Miss Annie Perkins, presided in the ab sence of the president, Mrs. J. H. Darden, Sr. The hostess served a sweet course. y ; MRS. DARDEN ENTERTAINS AU FAIT CLUB MEMBERS Mrs. J. H. Darden, Jr., was hos tess on Thursday afternoon at the home of Mrs. G. M. Holden to the Au Fait bridge club and additional guests, Mrs. Ed Davenport, Mm. J. M. Gibbs, Mrs. Bill Candler, Mrs. W. D. Creekmur, and Mm. I. D. Kirklin. Fall flowers were used in decorat ing the living room, where the tables were placed. ' ," , * A dessert course of lemon pie, mixed salted nuts and coffee, was served upon arrival of the guests and coca colas and cheese wafer$ w^re served after play.
